I will not talk about the importance of the conservation of electrical energy.I will not warn people that around 2025 electricity will be equal to diamonds.I’ll just ask people to take the following measures to reduce their electricity charge and restrict unnecessary loss of money. Nearly 17% of the salary of an average Indian end up in the locker of electric companies.

Measures :

1.Reduce transmission loss : Ask your electricity company to install underground cables. Underground cables are free from radio interference and other hazards like storm. Plus the loss due to transmission is extremely low than the over-ground cables. The cables which bring the power from your meter box to your house must have a PVC cover and also ensure that it is a new cable.

2.Replace old electrical and electronics equipments : Old equipments need more energy than the new one. Compare your old ceiling fans with today’s ultra sleek fans .Try to feel the weight difference. And as all of us know we need more energy to pull an iron than to pull a glass. As old fans are heavy it need more electrical energy to run. More energy means you increase your electricity bill. This is just an example but it is a fact that old equipments are “not comfortable with our modern electricity”

3.Use soundless generators : Buy a generator suitable for your house and use it every day for 6 hours. Don’t use ordinary oil. Use diesel mixed with Jatropa oil.Jatropa is a plant which yield oil from its seed. This oil can be mixed at a 25 : 75 ratio and applied to generators. It works fine. Also it reduce the content of pollutants from the smoke.Advantage of using jatropa is that it reduce the diesel required to run a generator.

4.Also install Inverters : Use inverters. Charge it by the generator. You can use inverters in the daytime.If you use the inverter in daytime you can reduce your electricity bill by half.
