If there is a backyard of at-least 8/8 ft then one of the best option to earn money from home will be to setup few interconnected garden ponds. Some flower-plant and trees like Aurelia sp. or Pynus sp. can be planted in and around those ponds. The entire setup will cost you very little.Actually you have to dug some ditches, level the sides and buttom.Install some water plants like Amazon sp. and thats it.Pour some water and voila your pond is ready.
Next step will be to buy the plants.Select 1 or 2 varieties of tropical, flowering, fruit and garden plants and install them all round the ponds. It will take 50-100 dollars and 2-3 days to complete the entire setup.
The advantage of this simple setup is many :
1.As the water bodies will absorb water chance of water logging will be minimal.
2.The soil texture will become humid which will increase the rigidity of the soil texture.
3.The ponds can act as rainwater harvesting tanks which will store the rain water and will recharge the groundwater during dry period.
4.If packs of ornamental fish are released in the ponds then suitable fish can be sold to earn some hard cash.
5.As the supply of water can be accessed from the water bodies, one can plant vegetables and fruits which can be later consumed for personal requirement or sold to the local market for some hard cash.
6. One can invite bidders to sponsor the trees which is a tool to reduce Green House gases like Carbon dioxide.Sponsoring trees is now a great platform to promote.Savings of carbon can also be sold to the government to earn some money and fame. Each carbon credit can be sold for $10 in the international carbon market.
7.The garden with the ponds can be converted to a eco-spot where anyone can organize nature shows and other environmental awareness programs.
The pictures below shows a backyard which can be converted into the second picture and earn money from selling fish, flowers, fruits, vegetables etc. along with saving the environment.
